Hatchbacks are in demand right now and sedans are not. That might be the reason why sales for performance sedan like the Subaru WRX STi has been dropping. Some automakers have been trying to get their sales number high by slipping in a hatchback option but so far, Subaru has never indicated that they plan to do that in the near future.
However, the fans are saying that that is exactly what Subaru needs to be doing right now. The demand for hot hatches is pretty high right now and the arrival of a Subaru WRX STi hatch could help increase the sales of the Subaru WRX STi.
The Subaru WRX STi hatch would come in to compete with models like the Honda Civic hatch, Volkswagen Golf R, Ford Focus RS and more.
