Both smartphones are not strangers to the consumers but little is known on the depth of differences between the two. This has led us to do a comparison on both the iPhone 5S and 5C.
It is easy to tell the two smartphones apart. The iPhone 5C has striking colours while the 5S does not. Under the hood, the iPhone 5S runs on the 64-bit A7 processor which is a major jump from the A6 processor equipped on the 5C. On top of that, the 5S has that co-processor chip to make it compatible with more apps compared to the 5C.
The iPhone 5S also has that fingerprint scanner which isn’t available on the 5C. The TouchID feature brings with it many security enhancements to the device.
Both devices share the same camera. However, the 5S fared better as it has that dual flash feature. It can also record videos at 120FPS with HD at 720p.
In terms of storage, the iPhone 5C is stuck at 32GB max. This isn’t the case for the iPhone 5S which enjoys storage capacity of up to 64GB.
The price difference is a major element that influences the customers purchasing decision. Apple has set a $100 price gap between both entry level devices.
The verdict is clear. It seems that the $100 is not enough to cover the differences between both devices. As such, the iPhone 5C suffered a major blow to its sales while the iPhone 5S manage to do well in the market.
