The latest Android 5.0 Lollipop came out with stricter rules and guidelines for app developers and this is because of the implementation of Google’s material design. However, since it is new, many are sceptical that it won’t be as good as Apple’s human interface design.
While Apple might have more experience in material design, it is Google that offers a nicer presentation on the Android system. The Lollipop’s material design is so cosy to the eyes and the new apps that abide by the guidelines also looks splendid.
We have compared Reddit Sync Pro, FX Explorer, Inbox by Google and Pocket Casts on both the iOS and Android, and we found that things are contrastingly better on the Lollipop.
Of course, both systems are still fresh with their respective designs and they have a long way to go before looking like a candy to the eye. For us, we believe that whichever systems that are able to offer more unity in the design will win the contest.
