The 2014 Ford Edge is regarded as one of the best SUVs in the market right now. However, it is unfortunate that the Edge is now a subject of a recall. The funny thing is that the recall was probed due to the fear for the 22” wheels to break while on the road.
In detail, NHTSA hints on the recall after an Edge owner was steered off-road upon breaking the front-right wheel into two. The Edge which was caught in the unfateful event had 8500 of mileage. If the recall is to proceed, then it will affect about 20,000 Ford Edge.
Of course, the recall has yet to happen and NHTSA is still investigating the case. For us, it sounds too fishy and there is no way the entire blame can be placed on the Edge’s wheels. There must be a massive pothole involved for the tyres to break and perhaps, the wheel is too large for its own good.
