Back when LG launched the G3 last year, the smartphone changed the industry by coming out with QHD resolution. While it does make everything look neat and nice, the feature seems to be wasted as there are no apps nor video players that are built to support high-end display.
That was the case until today when the YouTube app on the Android platform is finally updated to version 10.18.55. When users update their flagship smartphones to this version, they can play YouTube videos at 60fps.
However, not every device can support 660fps. It is understood that smartphones which are running on SoC that are older than the Snapdragon 805 processor can’t play videos at 60fps smoothly.
With YouTube now having support for 60fps, tech geeks are beginning to look forward to the 4K era. As for the average consumers, they are still hoping for a function that allows viewing vertical videos.
