Despite the Nexus not having the top specs compared to other smartphones available in the market. However, there are a few reasons why Android fans would still go for the Nexus smartphones series.
First of all, among all of the Android devices out there, the Nexus smartphones would get the first Android updates each time a new Android OS comes out. This don’t just apply to the new models, even the older Nexus smartphones would get the update faster than the other Android running smartphones.
This is due to the fact that the Nexus devices runs on pure Android and were made by Google, just like the Android OS. Recently Google had announced that the Nexus 4 smartphone and Nexus 7 tablet are getting an Android 4.4 KitKat update soon. This means, Nexus 7 version with only Wi-Fi connection would get the update now while the ones with mobile data connection will get the update soon after that.
Other Android running devices would take weeks and sometimes months to get the Android updates. Sometimes, when the update finally arrives to the devices, a newer version of Android OS had been released by Google. For example, currently the Samsung Galaxy S3 and Note 2 owners were still waiting for the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update while the Android 4.4 KitKat had already been released. Getting a Nexus device does mean that the owner would be one of the first to enjoy the new update of the Android operating system.
