The Elder Scrolls Online is already out and there is an overwhelming interest for this latest RPGMMO from Bethesda. As much as the fans want to board in the adventure of a lifetime, the price tag of Elder Scrolls Online has been scaring them away. Does the game fit its bill?
Bearing the name the ‘Elder Scrolls’, gamers get that instant visualization of Skyrim from Bethesda. Well, it is not far off from the single-player version as ESO is set in Tamriel itself. Players will get to see all the familiar cities in the game but the downside is with the viewing distance in ESO, which is rather short.
Starting the game will bring players to the character creation screen. There, two names are brought up and players have to choose their alliance. There is the Daggerfall Covenant which is like the good guys and the Aldmeri Dominion where exotic races are.
Following that, the game will commence and entering the world will definitely leave players in excitement. There is so much freedom to ESO and quests are portrayed like how it was in Skyrim.
The more exciting part is with the game’s HUD. There isn’t a mini-map at all. Instead, Zenimax Studio put in a basic compass which encourages players to stay sharp and perform their own exploring.
The same is with the combat system. Despite the many unlockables, players need to aim their strike and learn on combat patterns personally in order to survive the game. Players can get better experience on combat by participating in big battles between the alliances.
As far as we are concerned, ESO is a massive game and is a must-play if you can afford it. While the UK$8.99 might sound hefty, Zenimax promised no microtransactions happening in ESO.
