Both the latest Honda HR-V and the Jeep Renegade might share many similarities with each other but they have completely different target markets. This is despite of the fact that they are both from the compact SUV segment.
The Honda HR-V, in particular, is powered by a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine that is paired to a CVT transmission. This basically makes the HR-V a very economical compact SUV to own and it is ideal for the city folks.
The Jeep Renegade is unfortunately, not economical but it does come with 4WD mode. When engaged, the Renegade generates so much power which allows it to tackle the harsh off-road terrain. Heck, the Renegade is the only compact SUV with great off-roading skills.
With that being said, it does clear the air and it also confirms that the Renegade and the HR-V are completely different in terms of purpose.
