With the hype on Half Life 3 at an all-time high, fans are beginning to think that GDC will be the place where the highly anticipated sequel gets confirmed for production. Unfortunately, that won’t happen.
Yes, Valve might have booked a slot at GDC but they won’t be using their time to announce on Half Life 3. Instead, Valve is going to discuss more about their VR headset project.
This makes complete sense since GDC is a tech exhibition, not games. It is very rare to see a game getting announced at GDC hence it is highly unlikely for Half Life 3 to get confirmed at the event.
Besides, Half Life 3 is going to be massive when released and it needs a major platform for its announcement. We don’t think there is any other event that is more fitting for Half Life 3’s confirmation than E3 so fans should look forward to the event instead of GDC.
