The HTC One M8 is finally out and it actually managed to arrive earlier than the Samsung Galaxy S5. This is despite being unveiled second to the latter. The HTC One M8 certainly lived up to its many leaks and can be considered the best smartphone at the moment.
As great as the HTC One M8 may be, we have put it against the Google Nexus 5. After all, the device created by LG is powerful and it carries half the price tag of the HTC One M8.
In terms of design, the Nexus 5 is a handsome device that offers an easy grip. In spite of that, there is no competing with the One M8 as it is certainly the best looking smartphone in history with its metal body and streamlined shape.
Then there is the display. The One M8 has a screen size of 5 inch and the Nexus 5 is slightly smaller at 4.95 inch. The former offers 1080p resolution with 440ppi which is short of the latter’s 1080p 445ppi.
Both devices have a 16GB and 32GB variant. Of course, the HTC One M8 has an expandable memory slot which is absent on the Nexus 5. There is also the HTC Boomsound which offers the best sound system to date.
On a common ground, both the HTC One M8 and the Google Nexus 5 has un-removable batteries that have a capacity of 2600mAh and 2300mAh respectively. Of course, the One M8 is one hardware better than the Snapdragon 800 on the Nexus 5. This latest device runs on the Snapdragon 801. Both devices have 2GB of RAM as well.
Finally is the camera. As great as the 8MP illuminated sensor with OIS and LED flash rear camera sounds on the Nexus 5, there is no competing with the M8’s Ultrapixel 4MP rear camera that turns darkness into day.
Aside from the M8’s looks, cameras and processor, there isn’t a big gap between it and the Nexus 5. The HTC One M8 may be among the best devices coming this year but it is disappointing to know that the device is merely upgrades from the past. Nothing revolutionizing really.
