Technology is nearing the age where it becomes a vital part of an individual’s fashion. We have already seen smartwatches revolutionizing the tech industry but what we have yet to see is glasses. To major names are nearing its release and they are the Oculus Rift and Google Glass.
The Google Glass is well marketed as it is mobile, rigid and will capture every great moment with the command of the voice. It can be said to be a simplified GoPro camera. Of course, the Google Glass has more to offer as it is able to connect with smartphones and computers to share all the captures on Google+ or other social networking websites. The Google Glass features an optical head-mounted display and actually looks like glasses.
Then there is the Oculus Rift. Not long ago, Facebook bought out the entire company. This VR headset is huge and unlike the Google Glass, it is not meant for mobility. Instead, it is a home device where users utilize it for playing games and such.
The hi-tech headset will have 1080p resolution and head tracking technology which will be promoted with the Facebook Market. Of course, the Rift will be more advertised with the social network. Everything captured and displayed by the rift will be immersive.
Both wearables are expected to further expand their respective social network boundaries. The Google Glass has an edge as it can be synchronized with the Google Android. As for the Rift, gamers are not happy as the highly anticipated tool is bought over by the social network giant.
