There is a growing anticipation for a brand new Android and fans of this OS are buzzing on the upcoming Android 4.5 Lollipop, which will replace the KitKat. Then again, the name itself is still unconfirmed.
As we all know, Google names its OS in alphabetical order. The 4.4.2 KitKat starts with a K. As such, it is safe to assume the upcoming Android 4.5 to start with an L. The only treats starting with an L are Lollipop, Layer Cake, Lemon Meringue Pie and Lamington. Despite that fact, the Lollipop is the most popular of all.
Moving on, the Android 4.5 is also expected to be compatible with more wearables. After all, Google is developing the Google Glass and a wide range of wearable techs which will be revealed in Google’s Developers Conference happening in June. Word has it that an Android Wear app will be coming in the Lollipop which will be the control centre for wearables.
Then there is the Google Now feature which looks to get that much needed upgrade. Both SIRI and Cortana are able to offer a next-gen personal assistant experience. The Google Now feature has been useful but to robotic. The Lollipop is expected to add life to it.
More importantly, the Android 4.5 OS will look to enhance the security of its smartphones. It is most vulnerable in Google Play where many malwares are lurking in search of a prey. Also, performance will be improved tremendously which will result in a much better power efficiency.
All in all, there is no wrong that can come with the Android 4.5. Google is certainly stepping on the pedal in a bid to release the Android 4.5 before Apple let out the iOS 8. Expect this future system to debut with the Nexus 6 device coming in late this year.
