If you have been checking out Volkswagen Malaysia’s Facebook page, you will be able to spot a teaser image that comes with the caption “Volkswagen Jetta Special Edition.
Obviously, VWM is preparing to launch an all-new Jetta and the vehicle will be wearing the Special Edition badge. Then again, after taking a closer look at the image, the Jetta silhouette suggests that there won’t be many big changes with the vehicle from the existing model.
In detail, the Jetta Special Edition wears new 5-spoke wheels and a new bodykit. We don’t expect any upgrades to the components under the hood since the Jetta Special Edition is still based on the existing Jetta.
As such, you can look forward to seeing the Jetta running on the same 1.4L TSI engine that is paired to a 7-speed DSG gearbox.
If our assumption is spot on, then Malaysian car junkies will surely stay very far away from the vehicle since the Jetta is well-known for its issues with the 7-speed DSG gearbox. If VW wishes to receive great reception for the teased Jetta, they should call it the problem-free-edition instead.
