Half Life 3 For Wii U? EA Touches On A Very Sensitive Subject

It is fine to celebrate April Fool’s by throwing a prank or two but most of the time, there are individuals that take things too far. In the gaming industry, EA is that individual and the game developer has certainly caused a ruckus after a series of Tweets made on 1 April.

Three tweets were made by EA’s game engine profile, Frostbite, and they are as follow:

1. Frostbite now runs on the #WiiU since it is the most powerful Gen4 platform, our renderer is now optimized for Mario and Zelda.
2. Frostbite will power #HalfLife3, coming out summer 2014! #WiiU exclusive.
3. Good news, we have finally fixed and optimized our ‘netcode’. Uses quantum entanglement for Zero Latency connections. Exclusively on #WiiU.

This is rather disappointing from EA. It may be a joke but it does affects the victims emotionally. It seems that EA is being sarcastic with Wii U being the most powerful gaming console around.

Things got worse when EA touches on Half Life 3 being a Wii U exclusive. Now the last thing that anyone would want to mess with is the Half Life community. They have fallen victims of their own game developer and it is simply disgusting to take a hit at a wounded party. The third, again, talks about Wii U.

Today, the post has been taken down and no individual supported the joke. It is a disgrace that such a powerful name like EA behaved childishly. The Half Life fans are the depressed bunch and such a joke by EA can certainly create some suicide case.

Nevertheless, the damage is already done. For two years in a row, EA has been named the worst company in the US. This year, they managed to escape it but things will change for next year’s tournament.
