It looks like the Mazda CX-5 is not only looking at the Mazda CX-9 for its powertrain upgrade but it is also looking at CX-9 for design inspiration as well.
We were not expecting Mazda to be ready with an upgraded Mazda CX-5 so soon but they clearly are as they are already releasing teaser images for the upcoming Mazda CX-5. Most of the vehicle is still in the shadow but we can still make out some of the upgrades like the pumped up fender and a sleeker greenhouse design. The front looks similar to the new CX-9.
There is not a whole lot of details about the upcoming Mazda CX-5 right now but there are reports suggesting that the Mazda CX-5 might be getting a powertrain upgrade and that it might borrow its engine from the Mazda CX-9. That should help solve the performance issue that some people think the Mazda CX-5 has.
