The biggest benefit of having a hatchback model is that you get the option to expand your storage area if you needed to although we do not think that the people are asking for a Subaru WRX STi hatchback because of that reason.
Every automaker seems to be working on a performance hatchback of their own except for Subaru and because of that, some people were hoping that Subaru would offer a hatch version of their popular Subaru WRX STi.
While it will be interesting to see how the hatchback version of the Subaru WRX STi will performance, we don’t really think that we need another hot hatch in the market right now.
It also does not feel like Subaru has any plans to build one. While their Subaru WRX STi sales have been dropping, it really hasn’t got to the point where they would need another variant to help support it. Maybe if the WRX STi sales continue to fall.
