Half Life 3 Won’t Get Announced At GDC, Here’s Why

The rumours are rife in claiming that Half Life 3 will get announced at the GDC event happening next month but that don’t actually look like happening at all.

This is because GDC is more of a tech expo where developers unveil their future tech gadgets, not games. It is also rare to see a game getting announced at GDC throughout the event’s history.

Yes, Valve might have booked a slot at GDC but that does not mean Half Life 3 is going to get announced. Instead, Valve will probably use their time to discuss more on their VR headset that will shape the future of gaming.

GDC is also not a big event and with Half Life 3 having the prospect of becoming a mega-gaming title, its announcement deserves a bigger stage like E3.

With that being said, Half Life fans should not hope for anything at GDC as an announcement on Half Life 3 at the event seems unlikely to happen.
