LG Nexus 5 Disappointing Battery Life Soon To Be Corrected

The KitKat might be great in many ways but there are also some issues with this latest OS from Google. The Nexus 5 owners are reporting on poor battery life with the Android 4.4.2 OS and Google has acknowledged this.

It seems that the issue lies with the device’s drivers which continuously run in the background even when the camera app is already closed. Google further warned the Nexus 5 community that it is not only with the camera app.

Other applications like Skype have been guilty of leeching so much power from the battery. The tech giant revealed that there is a major incline in complains on the issue and they have identified Skype to be running the camera services even when it is already closed.

Google added that they are still investigating on the issue and the fixes have been pre-determined. The company is currently testing out the fixes before rolling it out to the masses.

Google then quotes, “I’d also like to note that instances of high CPU use of mm-qcamera-daemon on other devices besides the N5 need to be reported to their manufacturers – while those devices also use a Qualcomm chip for their camera processing (and thus have a mm-qcamera-daemon process), each has differences in their software and issues with them do not necessarily mean the N5 has the same problem, and vice versa.”

It is unknown on when the fix will be rolled out but users can expect it to arrive very soon.
