The Half Life fans have been waiting a decade for a third sequel and despite the game developer’s silence on the subject, many leaks have led the fans to believe the imminent coming of Half Life 3.
The latest leak to surface looks like a code that acted as a directory path for the game developer. ValveTime spotted the codes on Source Filmmaker which appears in Python programming language. It is merely a trace directory which the developers have accessed.
The codes appear as follow:
1. “self.projFolder_lineEdit.setPlaceholderText(QtGui.QApplication.translate(“renderQ_MainWindow”, “D:\\sfm\\staging\\game\\hl3_movies\\elements\\sessions\\dog_fight”, None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8))”
2. “self.output_lineEdit.setPlaceholderText(QtGui.QApplication.translate(“renderQ_MainWindow”, “\\\\sfm1\\projects\\hl3_movies\\dog_fight\\renders\\”, None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8))”
3. “self.projName_lineEdit.setPlaceholderText(QtGui.QApplication.translate(“renderQ_MainWindow”, “Dog_Fight”, None, QtGui.QApplication.UnicodeUTF8))”
This strongly suggests that Valve is probably shooting the cut-scenes for Half Life 3. After all, it does belong to the filmmaker. Looking at the codes itself revealed Dog Fight which refers to the Dog VS Strider back in Half Life 2 Episode 2.
Valve can stay quiet all they want but there is no running away from the fact that they are a corporation. As such, they will look to profit from Half Life 3. It is unavoidable.
