Films that are adaptations of video games have had its fair share of success over the years. The latest video games to make it into production are Warcraft and it definitely looks promising. On the other hand, there is the Mass Effect movie which is being put on hold.
This is due to the difficulty in the content of the story. IGN did an interview with Legendary Pictures CEO, Thomas Tull, which revealed that Warcraft is much easier to create. This is due to the huge content that came with it.
A Warcraft player should know that Blizzard Entertainment has done so much with the game with every single thing and character having their own books that tells their history and such. Tull agreed that the film producers are blessed to have these resources as it will make plotting the storyline much easier.
On the other hand, Tull revealed that Legendary Pictures has yet to get a great storyline for Commander Shepard. After all, the Mass Effect series from Bioware is very interactive as players gets to decide their fate in the game.
As such, Tull is still pondering on a perfect storyline for the Mass Effect film. The CEO revealed that he doesn’t just want to create things from out of the blue. He wishes for the Mass Effect film to offer a thorough Mass Effect experience. After all, the CEO is a player himself.
All in all, it seems that a Warcraft film will look to make it into the screen ahead of the Mass Effect film. Tull revealed that the cast are already great and he can’t wait to show Warcraft to the world.
