Earlier today, Chevrolet shared with the world that the next-gen Camaro is going to be 200 pounds lighter than before. In digits, the Camaro will be weighing at about 3,500 pounds which is contrastingly lighter than the previous 3,700 pounds Camaro.
However, this does not mean that the Camaro is the lightest in the family. The lightest decent Camaro so far is with the fourth-generation model, which weighs at 3,666 pounds.
So this leaves us wondering if the new lighter parts really aid in reducing the weight of the vehicle. On the other hand, there is a chance for the framework to be lighter but there is a heavier engine in place.
Regardless, we are eager to drive the next-gen Chevrolet Camaro and get a full feel of how the lighter vehicle performs. Of course, that will have to wait until May 16 when the sixth-generation Chevrolet Camaro gets launched.
