The latest Google Nexus 5 has certainly wowed the world when it first debuted. Not long later, complains have been flying everywhere on the smartphone’s battery, draining rather quickly.
Google have acknowledged this complains and identified it as an issue with the camera on every device running on the latest Android 4.4 KitKat. Whenever the camera is being used, the battery often heats up and drains very quickly.
It seems that the Nexus 5, together with every other KitKat devices, fails to close the camera app and let it run in the background. Another possibility is with third-party apps that constantly access the camera. One such app guilty of doing so is Skype.
The tech-giant announced that it is still investigating the cause of the problem and many fixes are already in development that will see an end to this issue for good. However, the fix will be rolled out on the next update to the Nexus 5 first before all the other KitKat operated devices. Of course, users of the latter will have to refer to their respective manufacturer as there have been software tweaks and changes.
Despite all that, the release date has yet to be announced by Google. Users will just have to tolerate the issue a little longer until the fix gets released.
