Capcom has confirmed that it is developing Resident Evil 7 and it is going to be a massive game since the next sequel is going to debut on both the Xbox One and PS4.
In addition to that, Resident Evil 7 will look to restore the horror that once existed in the franchise and this was teased after a screenshot of the game in production got leaked online.
The screenshot basically shows Resident Evil 7 menu and at the background, we can see the all-familiar Racoon City. The latter was the location of the first Resident Evil trilogy and back then, everything about Resident Evil comes with the horror tag.
So if Resident Evil 7 is going to return to Racoon City, then it might also see the return of the horror genre which was replaced by third-person shooter back in the last Resident Evil trilogy.
This is something fans have always wanted and it should give the series a boost. Then again, the above has yet to receive confirmation by Capcom so it is best taken with a pinch of salt.
