If you think that the Ford Focus is the only car that will be refreshed with the RS badge in 2017, wait till you hear about the Fiesta RS. Apparently, Ford is already developing the latter based on the multiple-award winning, EcoBoost-powered mini hatchback, the Fiesta.
With the RS badge intact, the upcoming Fiesta is going to sit above the Fiesta ST. The confirmation of the Fiesta RS’ production was made through a spy shot of the vehicle instead of an official announcement.
The spy shot basically shows a non-ordinary looking Fiesta being tested on live roads. We know it is not ordinary when we notice the larger lower grille and also the large intercooler resting behind it.
Details might be non-existent at the moment but we can expect the Fiesta RS to run on a 1.6L EcoBoost 4-cylinder turbocharged engine that is mated to a traditional manual gearbox. While this might be similar to the Fiesta ST, the RS will be further refined to offer 230hp instead of 197hp.
