Volvo XC40: Too Late To Matter?

While automakers are all rushing to come out with a compact crossover model of their own, Volvo seems to be taking their sweet time with it as the latest reports suggest that we are years away from seeing the models at the dealers.

Automotive News reported that Volkswagen is planning to offer a compact crossover model that will most likely be arriving in the US in 2019. It is believed that the new compact crossover model will be called the XC40 and that it will be riding on the smaller version of the Scalable Product Architecture by Volvo.

Called the Compact Modular Architecture platform, it is said that the new platform will allow Volvo to fit on a few kinds of vehicle. Details like engines, safety systems and features are still a mystery but many believe that it should be similar to the SPA based models.

We are also expecting to see the S40 and V40 model here in the US.
