Sony Xperia Z Android 4.4.2 KitKat Update Available Via Alternate Methods

Sony Xperia Z users are in for some great news. They can now enjoy the features found on the Xperia Z Ultra and the Xperia Z2 on their old device by installing the official Android 4.4.2 KitKat firmware 10.5.A.0.230 from Sony.

Pre-requisite
1. The ROM is strictly for the Xperia Z smartphone. Other devices attempting the update will face undesired results.
2. The Xperia Z should be rooted and installed with ClockWorkMod.
3. A minimum of 80% battery is needed for the installation.

Flashing Instruction
1. Download the Android 4.4.2 Z-Ultrarized ROM on a computer and connect the smartphone to it via USB.
2. Install the ROM to the Xperia Z’s SD card before disconnecting the smartphone.
3. Enter recovery mode by holding on the Power, Home and Volume Up button simultaneously.
4. Under ClockworkMod Recovery, do a complete data wipe. Do this by choosing “wipe data/factory reset.” The Power button can be used to navigate through Recovery Mode.
5. Choose “wipe cache partition”.
6. Return to the primary recovery screen and choose “install zip from SD card”.
7. Select “choose zip from SD card”. The volume keys can be used to go to the Android 4.4.2 zip file. Use Power button to confirm selection.
8. Following installation, choose “+++++Go Back+++++” and reboot the phone. Do this by confirming with “reboot system now” under the recovery.

The Xperia Z should reboot itself into the Ultrarized Android 4.4.2 KitKat.
