Sony Xperia Phones Reaching Out To Android 4.4.4 KitKat

The Xperia family are about to get a treat of a lifetime. Sony has come out to announce that it will be updating a long list of Xperia smartphones to the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat. Also, Sony will be adding it’s on features on them.

The Sony Ultra X, Xperia Z and the Z1 smartphones will get plenty of features from the newer Xperia Sirius. Among them includes the Timeshift video and background defocus.

Like the Jellybean update, the upcoming KitKat will also tweak the smart app feature. The UI will get a Close All button and a whole new look. This will compliment well with the call support function and double-tap to wake feature introduced in the Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

As for the Xperia Sirius, it will get improvements to the sound system and audio accessory support. Sony made it clear that they will add in S Force audio and Clear Audio with XLoud engine in the Sirius.

Then, there is the omission of My Xperia Themes, which meant that users are no longer limited when it comes to customizing their device.

As per the announcement, Sony confirmed that the Xperia Z2 and SP will be first to receive the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update. This will then be followed by the Xperia T, TX and V.
