Samsung Galaxy Tab Active Review: A Bathtub Buddy

Last year, we’ve seen how the tech industry is offering water and dust resistant smartphones as a standard. This year, such a feature will be introduced on tablets too. This is evident after Samsung launched the Galaxy Tab Active.

This latest tablet is IP67 certified and it is capable of being in a meter of water for 30 minutes. The Tab Active can also absorb shock that protects it from a drop of up to 1.2 meter.

In terms of specs, the Tab Active features a large 8.4” 1280x800p resolution display. This is powered by the Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU and 1.5GB of RAM. There is 16GB of internal storage space included and also support for microSD of up to 64GB. Other features include a 3.15MP rear camera and a 1.5MP front shooter.

Sure, the Tab Active does not offer the best specs in the house but it does produce a decent performance overall. The Tab Active runs on the Android 4.4.2 KitKat out of the box and it retails at $699.99. With the Tab Active, consumers don’t have to worry about bringing the device to a pool or bathtub.
