Samsung Galaxy S5 vs Note 3: Which Is A Better Upgrade

The recently released Samsung Galaxy S5 is undoubtedly the best smartphone to date. Not long ago, the same tagline was referred to the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. The latter is not even a year-old which leaves us wondering on the differences between the two.

It is no secret that the Galaxy S5 runs on the latest Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.5GHz with Adreno 330 GPU and 2GB RAM. This is definitely an upgrade from the 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor with Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB RAM on the Galaxy Note 3.

The S5 might be one step ahead of the Note 3 but the phablet has more RAM size to it. As such, the gap is really small between both devices.

When it comes to display, the Note 3 is certainly appealing as it features a huge 5.7” screen that offers 1920x1080p resolution. The Galaxy S5 is much smaller with its 5.1” display. Nevertheless, the smaller screen compliments the device by giving it more PPI. On top of that, the S5 has the best brightness to offer with its display.

The S5 is ahead in snapping pictures too as Samsung equipped it with a massive 16MP rear camera. This is so much bigger than the 13MP rear shooter on the Note 3.

Before, we conclude, there is the specialty on both devices that needs to be looked into. The Note 3 comes with the S Pen so that it functions like a Note. The S5 is more superior in this segment as it comes with a fingerprint scanner and a heart rate sensor that takes innovation to a whole new level.

Functionality in the S5 simply overpowered the Note 3. There isn’t a big price difference or specs difference between both smartphones. As such, the S5 edges out the Note 3 by being the better device. On the other hand, the gap is not a huge one really.
