Samsung Galaxy S2 Android 5.0 Lollipop Update Released!

Following the release of the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop from Google, smartphone manufacturers have been busy tweaking the OS to fit their company’s offerings. XDA developers too are busy readying the Android 5.0 Lollipop for various smartphones.

Now, the folks from XDA have confirmed that a custom ROM containing the latest mobile OS is ready and it is for the Samsung Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 model. The ROM, named CodeROM Lollipop, is still in its early build so S2 users shouldn’t look forward to enjoying the complete OS just yet.

Also, there are a number of functions that are deemed unusable but a future update is bound to arrive to fix it. In detail, the developer revealed the issues to involve the mobile network, WLAN, Bluetooth, home button, SDcard support and random reboots.

Regardless, if you are a Galaxy S2 GT-I9100 user and can’t wait to get a lick at the Lollipop, you can install the custom ROM with the aid of a guide below.

1. Download CodeRom Lollipop on the computer.

2. Connect and mount the phone’s USB mass storage on computer with USB cable.

3. Now, copy the ROM zip file to the root folder on the phone’s SD card.

4. Power off the phone and disconnect its USB cable from computer and boot into Recovery Mode.
