Samsung Galaxy Note 3 vs New S5: Don’t Get Fooled By The Specs

It is no secret that the latest Samsung Galaxy S5 is the best smartphone at the moment. However, consumers shouldn’t look into the speed factor as most devices today are more than capable of running every task thrown at them. Instead, they should look at the display.

We have compared the Galaxy S5 with the Galaxy Note 3 to see which devices can offer more viewing pleasure. Can the larger display of the Note 3 outdo the brand new Galaxy S5?

For starters, the S5 is equipped with that same Super AMOLED display as the one on the Note 3. The only physical difference is the size. Despite that fact, the S5’s screen has been tweaked to offer 13% more brightness than the Note 3.

In a recent test, the Galaxy S5 recorded 351nits, which is better than the 310nits on the Note 3. However, this is not comparable to the 500+nits recorded by the iPhone 5s. While the test is accurate, the results contradict with Samsung’s claims on the S5, being able to achieve more than 500nits at ease.

It appears that Samsung was right. The Korean company didn’t go into detail previously and now, it clarified that the nits produced are influenced by the ambient light. Under direct sunlight, the Galaxy S5 achieved 698nits whereas in regular outdoors, it remained consistent at 475nits.

This is simply revolutionary. The S5 surpassed the iPhone 5s and is by far more superior to the display on the Note 3.
