Sony is about to unleash its next generation console the Playstation 4. While the PS4 is about to debut, many rumours and speculation have been circling the Blogosphere defaming the upcoming product.
A couple of days ago, some media outlets have revealed the state-of-the-art gaming device is experiencing overheating problems, thus explaining why the review units are not out yet. However, it such a statement could be due to Sony turning down the handful of media’s requests for the review unit.
To thoroughly investigate the cause of the silence, it is best to get info from the development team since they have been putting in a lot of effort on the PS4. Digital Extremes, Meridith Braun, revealed that the PS4 devkits have zero records on overheating issues.
Seven other different developers who refused to be identified also quoted similarly denying the overheating issue. One notable quote claims that the game development demands a lot from the console but no overheating issues has occurred. Another one also claims that the console was switched on for days and still no reports on overheating. If there is another thing these developers can agree on is that their PS4 kits all worked superbly.
It is all laid out. The rumours prove to me nothing more than blasphemy. Or maybe they got the unlucky one in a million units that overheats which is highly unlikely. We cannot deny that anything mass produced will have its fair share of rotten eggs but to come up with such a rumour, it is really low.
