As if the amount of account a Nintendo user needs now is not confusing enough, Nintendo is adding in another account that users will have to sign up for if they want to play the new Nintendo Switch console.
To start, you will need a Nintendo Account. If you plan to access the Nintendo online services, you will also need to register for a Nintendo Network ID. Now, you will also need the Nintendo User ID.
The option was made available to those with a Nintendo Account this week. Based on what we know right now, it looks like the account will be needed for the Nintendo Switch. There is also an online component that cost about $15 to $30 but we do not know what it will come with.
If you plan to own a Nintendo Switch, you might want to register now because all the good names are already being taken up.
