Nexus 6 vs OnePlus One: How Big Is The Gap?

If there is one thing OnePlus can be proud of, it is the One smartphone. The device created a global madness due to its high-specs and super low cost. The OnePlus One is already regarded as a smartphone that is more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy S5 but is it better than the Nexus 6?

The brand new smartphone from Google was released last month and it came out with a large 6” display that runs on QHD resolution. Just by the display, the Nexus 6 is already one step higher than the OnePlus One. The latter has a 5.5” screen that runs at 1080p resolution.

In terms of performance, the One operates on a 2.5GHz Snapdragon 801 processor with 3GB of RAM. The device comes with internal memory that ranges from 16GB to 64GB. Unfortunately, there is no support for microSD.

The Nexus 6, on the other hand, is powered by the latest Snapdragon 805 processor clocked at 2.5GHz. This is paired to 3GB or RAM and memory can be expanded till 128GB via microSD. This is certainly faster than the OnePlus One. Furthermore, the Nexus 6 came out with the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. The One runs on the older Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box.

Then again, the Nexus 6 failed to impress in the field of photography. While both the OnePlus One and Nexus 6 might have the same 13MP camera, it is the former that captures better pictures. Also, the One has a 5MP front shooter, which is miles better than the 2.1MP offered with the Nexus 6.

Of course, camera quality does not mean victory for the OnePlus One. Obviously, the Nexus 6 is still the better smartphone overall but considering the price gap between the two, the OnePlus One can still be viewed as a revolutionary device.
