Motorola Nexus 6 Review: 3 Things That Will Blow Your Mind

Google has finally launched the all-new Nexus 6 and it is truly an oversized smartphone. We’ve already discussed about the Nexus 6’s specifications and today, we are going to share something different. We have discovered three new information on the smartphone that will leave your jaws drop.

First and foremost is fast charging. You shouldn’t be fooled by the large 3,220mAh battery on the Nexus 6 as it doesn’t quite help a lot on prolonging battery life. Furthermore, the fact that the Nexus 6 comes with a large screen makes it more power hungry than the old Nexus 5. Motorola is aware of this which explains why they have disregard battery capacity and focus more on charging speed.

Google called it the Turbo Charge feature and it enables the Nexus 6 to operate an additional 6 hours of usage time just from a 15-minutes charge. Then again, the feature isn’t actually new. It is basically the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0, rebadged for the sake of exclusivity. The feature is already available on the HTC One M8, the Moto X and many other devices.

Another key information on the Nexus 6 is its screen size. Obviously, the device is larger than the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 but the fact Google turned the Nexus into a phablet has its own significance. It could be that the US tech giant is promoting productivity through its services and there is no better way to do so than with a large screen. The Note-series for Samsung has been offering it for years but their TouchWiz UI is why the smartphone didn’t become the trendsetter.

Finally is the issue with the cup-holders on the American-manufactured cars. They are simply too small. With the Nexus 6 being large, we come up with an idea to use the device as an infotainment or sat-nav system on a car. However, the cup-holders in American cars couldn’t fit the Nexus 6 well. We tried it on European vehicles and they fit perfectly. This is something car manufacturers should note about.
