The SUV and pickup segment seems to be the segment to be in right now for the automakers as we see more and more automakers express their interest in the SUV and pickup market.
The latest automaker to join the new pickup craze could be Kia as Motoring reported that a Kia source confirmed that Kia has plans to offer a Kia badge pickup truck and that the they are looking at the Hyundai Santa Cruz for inspiration.
That means there is a possibility that the Kia pickup could be coming with the same 2.0-liter turbo diesel engine that Hyundai is using to power up the Santa Cruz. The engine delivers about 190hp and 300lb ft of torque.
Of course, this is far from being a confirmation but if they do decide to go ahead with their plans, the Kia pickup will be coming in to compete with models like the Honda Ridgeline.
