Jeep Wrangler Can’t Protect Itself Just Yet

Flaws with the UConnect infotainment system has allowed hackers to hack into FCA’s Jeep models. A new software update was released soon after but it looks like Jeep is still not capable of protecting itself.

Back in April, it was reported that some hackers managed to hack into a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and steel it. At that time, it was believed that the hackers might have gotten their hands on a software that allowed them to pair a blank key to the Jeep.

Well, the thieves have been caught now although investigators are still trying to determine the method these thieves were using to gain excess into the Jeeps. It was reported that the two thieves Michael Arcee and Jesse Zelay have already stolen more than 30 units of Jeeps within six months.

While we wait for a fix, you might want to be extra careful with your Jeeps for now.
