Jaguar XF & Range Rover In Humid Region Given First Priority

Since the issue here is with the Takata airbags, Land Rover will be focusing on those living in regions with high temperature and humidity first before tackling the rest of the affected models.

Land Rover has just issued a recall to recall back the 2009 – 2011 Jaguar XFs and the 2007 – 2011 Land Rover Range Rover after it was reported that the Takata airbags on the front passenger side might have a propellant that might degrade when exposed to too much heat and humidity.

The heat and humidity might cause the airbag to degrade and propel metal shrapnel towards the front passenger when the airbag is deployed. Due to insufficient parts, Land Rover will be recalling them in stages. Regions that will be part of the first recall phase will include Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina, Texas, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the US Virgin Islands.

Land Rover will move on to the second, third and fourth stage when the parts are available.
