iPhone 6 Will Cost Apple Fans Big

A recent study has suggested that people may have to pay more if they want to buy an iPhone in 2014. Even if the iPhone 6 price tag should stay the same you may be able to get yourself a $0 deal with one of the new carrier plans that will allow you to upgrade faster and more often.

Analysts have been predicting that the iPhone 6 price tag will climb thanks to Apple looking for ways in which to make profits. They could also offer larger iPhone 6 display sizes along with a new design and Sapphire coating.

The cost of the iPhone 5S is $199, however the price has been dropping as you can purchase it at Best Buy for %100 when taking out a contract.

If the iPhone 6 is kept at around $199 on contract or around $649 off contract with nothing down but users are charged full price and this shows that people could end up paying more for a new iPhone over two years than they did for the iPhone 5.

T-Mobile started the trend with Jump and then in 2013 Sprint, AT&T and Verizon jumped on the bandwagon, when they offered new plans as being a cheaper way to get a phone. Some of these meant that people had to pay nothing more than taxes on the device and pay $25 to $33 a month as a part of the contract over 12 to 24 months.

For most of the time if you pay for a phone this way then the monthly bill comes in cheaper as the carrier isn’t paying the $450 for the cost of the device that the owner didn’t pay. Consumers have to hope that with cheaper monthly payments for calls and data along with not having to put anything down, savings are made in contrast to buying on contract, after two years. Generally carriers will offer discounts of around $10 to $25 per month when taking one of the new offers, if the full price for the phone is paid for.

After one year customers who choose an instalment plan will pay around $74 on average more than anyone who had paid using the traditional contract approach and who has paid $199 upfront along with the $35 activation fee. This comes to around $150 after two years, almost enough to have purchased a new phone.

Of course this would all depend on whether Apple offers the iPhone 6 for around $649 off contract and a carrier price tag of around $199. Should Apple offer a larger display then the costs could be more. At the moment Apple make around $450 on each of the 16GB iPhones that are sold, this is when you take into account that the build cost comes in at just under $200.

We have heard that some of the features on the iPhone 6 could include a device that is slimmer, however large enough to have a display of 4.7 inches, while we could see a display of 5.5 inch also. It was said that Apple have put half a billion dollars into production of Sapphire to make their display better. At the moment we haven’t heard anything about a camera upgrade, however it was said that it could have more megapixels and image stabilisation.
