The HTC One M7 might be an old smartphone but it will still be updated to the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop. While there is no way to tell on when that may happen, One M7 users can skip the wait and jump straight to updating their smartphone via unofficial method.
This is now possible thanks to the all-new LiquidSmooth ROM that has just been developed by XDA developers. However, the custom ROM containing the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop is still in its early build so there are bound to be errors with it.
It is also important to note that the LiquidSmooth ROM is developed specifically for the HTC One M7 smartphone. Attempting to apply it on other devices can lead to undesirable outcomes.
If you are using the HTC One M7, you can apply the update via the traditional AOSP method. Just make sure that you have backed up your device and have 80% battery prior to commencing the update. Also, the HTC One M7 will have to be rooted or else the installation wouldn’t work.
