Honda Ridgeline, CR-V, Fit Heads Back, 2.23 Million Recalled

Years after the Takata airbag inflator issue was brought to light, automakers like Honda is still working to clean up the mess Takata-made with the whole airbag exploding issue.

Honda has now issued another recall to recall back models that was fitted with the problematic Takata airbag. The recall will affect a total of 2.23 million units fo Honda and Acura model.

The Takata airbags inflator has the tendency to rupture in a crash spray metal shrapnel at the occupants. The airbags have been the cause of 10 deaths so far although no death or injuries caused by the PSDI-5 airbag inflator that Honda is recalling right now have been reported.

Models that will be affected by the recall will include the 2005 to 2012 Acura RL, 2007 – 2011 Honda CR-V, 2007-2016 Acura RDX, 2007-2014 Honda Ridgeline, 2009-2014 Honda Fit, 2009 -2014 Acura TL, 2010 -2014 Honda FCX Clarity, 2010-2014 Honda Insight, 2010-2013 Acura ZDX, 2011-2015 Honda CR-Z and 2013-2016 Acura ILX.

Affected models will get the inflators replaced.
