Google Pixel & Pixel XL Mic Problem Solved By Google

Soon after the Google Pixel and Pixel XL was released, some users started reporting that they were having an issue with the microphone on the device. They reported that the microphone would stop working without any reason.

Google later admitted that it was a hardware issue and now, they announce that they will be replacing the defective Pixel and Pixel XL units. Since the device is still under warranty, users that experience the same issue can now get themselves a new replacement unit.

According to Google, the hardware issue only affects less than one percent of their users. They explain that the problem was a hairline crack that affected the connection to the audio codec. However, there were others that were just caused by faulty microphones.

Google has since start reinforcing the connection of their newer device so the problem should not exist in the newer models.
