Google Nexus 7 Skips Android 5.0.1 For 5.0.2

Nexus tablet users must be surprised when they learned that the 2013 Nexus 7 has been updated to Android 5.0.1 but not the old Nexus 7 from 2012. Apparently, this is because Google has decided to skip Android 5.0.1 and promised to roll out Android 5.0.2 to its devices.

The Android 5.0.1 was launched a couple of weeks ago and it sent out many fixes to the issues with the original Lollipop. Of course, not every problems got repaired which forced Google to start working on a second update.

Soon, the Android 5.0.2 will be released and it will attempt to stabilize the Lollipop OS. This is confirmed by Google, which also released a screenshot of the update running on the 2012 WiFi-only Nexus 7.

While details on the Android 5.0.2 update might be scarce at the moment, 2012 Nexus 7 users can look forward to receiving the update in the coming days.
