There is not one smartphone in ever made that is able to satisfy everybody’s need. The newly released Nexus 5 had also some weaknesses on its own.
Among the Nexus 5’s weaknesses are the lack of low light image quality, poor camera software, no SD card support and the low voice calls audio quality. But, according to BGR, standing on the top of the list is the battery life. Of course all smartphones had battery life issues. We had been expecting that the current smartphone battery life would be as lengthy as the old basic phones that were used to be running for days without needing a recharge. However, the Nexus 5’s battery puts it as one of the smartphones that has the worst battery life.
However, the Nexus 5 is not performing as bad as the iPhone 4 running on iOS 7 in terms of battery life and there are ways for the Nexus 5 owners to get the most out of their battery. The easiest thing is to keep charging the battery. You can keep a charger at home, at work and also a car charger in your vehicle. Other than that, power saving mode can be turned on to increase the Nexus 5’s battery life. Features such as location settings and voice commands can also be turned off to save up some battery charge.
Not just the Nexus 5 owners but all smartphone owners should know that the part of a smartphone that consumes the most battery charge is its display. Turning the screen’s brightness to the lowest level where you can still see the screen comfortably would help to increase the Nexus 5’s battery life significantly. Another thing that consumes power unnecessarily is the live wallpapers. Instead of using fancy animated wallpapers, you can choose a static image with darker colors as you wallpaper.
However, there should not be too much worry about the Nexus 5 battery life. Google had promised to find a fix for this problem. You don’t have to return your Nexus 5 just yet.
