Ford’s Sync 3: Picking Blackberry Over Microsoft the Right Choice

It was going to happen eventually. With so many customers unhappy about how the MyFord Touch infotainment system works, we figured that it won’t be long before Ford decides to drop the system and come out with a new one.

What Ford did was drop the MyFord Touch which was created with the help of Microsoft and work on a new infotainment system. The new infotainment system, Sync 3 was created with the help of Blackberry.

Running on the QNX operating system by Blackberry, the new Sync 3 will come in to replace the MyFord Touch infotainment system and will be offered in all 2016 Ford and Lincoln model. According to Ford, their goal for the new infotainment system is to keep it simple and easy to use, characteristic that the MyFord Touch did not have.

The new Sync 3 also recognizes a few more touchscreen gestures like pinching to zoom and some swipe movements.
