Ford Focus, Escape & Mustang Can’t Hold It In [Recall]

Ford will be issuing a new recall that would affect a total of 830,000 units of the Ford models.

Models that will be affected by the recall will include the 2013 – 2015 Ford C-Max, 2012 – 2015 Ford Focus, 2013 – 2015 Ford Escape, 2015 Lincoln MKC, 2015 Ford Mustang, and the 2014 – 2016 Ford Transit Connet.

It is believed that the pawl spring tab in the side door latch might break. If that happens, the door will have a problem latching on which could lead to the door opening mid drive. Ford added that the warm weather could be one of the reasons why the pawl spring tab might break. Ford is currently focusing their recall on warmer states including Nevada, Utah, Hawaii, Arizona, Georgia and more.

There has already been one reported injury and one accident so far. The affected models will be called in to get their side door latch replaced with a new one.
