We know that the Subaru WRX STi sales have been dropping. While part of it is because Subaru simply refuse to give the Subaru WRX STi a proper upgrade, the consumer’s interest in the performance sedan market also played a big role in the drop in sales.
It seems like people are more interested in hot hatch now compared to performance sedan and with so many hot hatches to choose from out there, performance sedan like the Subaru WRX STi is simply being ignored.
That is why some people think that Subaru should come out with a Subaru WRX STi hatchback model to compete with the other hot hatches like the Ford Focus RS and Golf R. Of course, Subaru has never indicated that they are working on a hot hatch.
