2018 Mazda CX-5 Goes Premium, Mazda Rushing To Fill In The Gap

It is said that Mazda might be looking to turn the Mazda CX-5 into a premium model which means the next model could be coming in with a bigger price tag. If that happens, there will be a gap in between the Mazda CX-3 and the Mazda CX-5.

New reports are suggesting that Mazda might be looking to fill up the gap that the Mazda CX-5 would leave with the Mazda CX-4. With the previous line-up, there was no space for the Mazda CX-4 to stand on its own and because of that, the CX-4 was not offered here in the US but with the Mazda CX-5 now moving up, we could be seeing the Mazda CX-4 make its way to our shores.

As for the Mazda CX-5, it is said that besides getting a new price tag, the SUV will also be fitted with a new engine that Mazda showed off when they announce the Mazda CX-9. The engine should help solve the performance issue that the Mazda CX-5 had in the past.
