When it comes to EV models right now, it is all about being efficient and that is one of the upgrades that the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class facelifted model will be getting.
According to Mercedes, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz S550 e will be coming with a wireless charging option. The charging system will be provided by Qualcomm. The charger called theQualcomm Halo will use a resonant magnetic induction to transfer the energy to the vehicle. It has been reported that the wireless charging efficiency is rated at 90%.
Not only will it come with a new wireless cahrging feature but the 2017 model will also come with a bigger battery capacity of 13.3kwh compared to the 8.7kWh from the previous model.
While Mercedes have not revealed how much more range the vehicle will be offering now with the battery capacity upgrade, it is estimated that the upgrade will allow the vehicle to travel for an extra 7 to 8 miles bring the driving range to 19 to 20miles.
