2017 Mazda CX-5 Won’t Be Threatening The XC60

It was first thought that the upgraded 2017 Mazda CX-5 was going to come in as a new premium model from Mazda. If that were to happen, the 2017 Mazda CX-5 would be competing with the Volvo XC60 model and a few other premium SUV models but that did not happen.

Instead of going premium, Mazda decided to just upgrade the model but that does not mean that there is nothing worth noticing. Besides getting an upgraded exterior design, the Mazda CX-5 will also be fitted with a few new tech and features.

On top of that, Mazda will also be bringing a diesel-powered Mazda CX-5 here into the US. While most automakers choosed to stop offering diesel models here, Mazda saw this as a great opportunity to get the attention of diesel lovers.

Some people were also hoping that the Mazda CX-9 new engine would make it over to the CX-5 but that is not going to happen.
